We have enjoyed New York and London’s runways and their most incredible looks for the upcoming new season but now our eyes are in Milan. And, as it is always expected, season after season, Milan Fashion Week always brings the glamour, and this Spring-Summer 2023 at the fashion capitol did not disappoint at all. For this season, tons of bold colour and opulence are back to bright our days – whether into pieces or on makeup looks. Of course, there have been classic makeup with a hint of cool, too. From Fendi’s ‘90s-inspired make-up looks to Moschino and Max Mara, here are the most glamorous hair and makeup trends form the Italian fashion capital. So, let’s have a look at them!
Prada: False Eyelashes
Creative Directors Miuccia Prada & Raf Simons opted for striking beauty details that stood out on the Prada Spring-Summer 2023 runway. Makeu-up artist Pat McGrath applied thick, false and custom-mad eyelashes onto models’ upper eyelids that “represents reflections of creative freedom,” said Pat. They were so long and straight that they fanned over the eyes, “draped with garments of custom faux lashes with intentional shape and placement. Paired with undetectable radiant skin and a nude lip, this look redefines what it means to add a faux lash,” Pat added.

Moschino: High Shine-Impact Makeup & Hair
For the Spring 2023 collection, the brand and makeup legend Kabuki constructed a classic take on glamour and extravaganza. Models wore immaculate skin, smoky eyes, and red lacquered lips (glossy). As regards hair, Kabuki opted for a more subdued style: a sleek bun kept neat with a generous slick of gel. Some models wore balloon animals on their heads; others had giant earrings on.

Fendi: Grunge Makeup & Hair
For the Spring 2023 season, Creative Director Kim Jones have taken inspiration from the ‘90s, reinterpreting them as the skin being kept nude and eyebrows “made to be a bit bushier on most girls” while adding satin finishes. Besides, silver makeup has also been present added to the model’s eye ade – a modern grunge must-have trend to copy this season.
As regards hairstyle, the brand opted for soft, blown-out waves – soft middle parting, letting the hair frame the face and the natural but modern makeup.

Max Mara: Neutral Colours Lips
Creative Director Ian Griffiths took cues from 1930s female intellectuals on the French Riviera, evoking feminine modernity with a neutral colour palette into its pieces. Models wore swimming caps in neutral colours while keeping their beauty looks simple and natural, with a tinge of coral lipstick which definitely helped to define the whole look.

Alberta Ferretti: Elegant & Glowing Makeup/Hair
The brand opted for wet hair looks “dedicated to dynamic and expressive woman” – especially that slicked-back hairstyle. Glowing complexion was the star inspo for the makeup looks we saw on the runway of Alberta Ferretti.
