The 2022nd edition of the MTV Video Music Awards is finally here, and the stars have brought their best for the ceremony’s outrageous Red Carpet fashion.
The event, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey showed some of Hollywood’s most memorable and experimental red carpet looks. The ceremony also played host to some unforgettable live performances. The trio of hosts? LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow, and the most anticipated performers included Blackpink, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Lizzo, Panic! At the Disco, Maneskin and Anitta.
Hollywood’s top stars showed off their ensembles on the red carpet wearing flashiest and boldest outfits. After all, the VMAs have a history of creating memorable ensembles, so this year was no exception on the fashion front. Some elicited some of the loudest screams with their ensembles featuring fetish-inspired accessories, like singer Dove Cameron’s chunky leather choker, or flashes of color, like Sabrina Carpenter’s rainbow embellishments. The stars also dared to get naked, with celebrities like Ashley Graham, Tate McRae, Anitta and Jennie from Blackpink all showing off their looks. Men were also present, of course! Most of them bared their torsos and sported gender-fluid fashions, bringing a certain softness to the menswear ensembles, with Conan Gray, Harris Reed Ethan Torchio.

Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter hit the red carpet at the Prudential Center in Newark. Carpenter posed in a black halter-neck Paco Rabanne gown. The sleeveless number gained a sleek edge from a front keyhole cutout, bodice cutouts and a thigh-high slit. Completing her look with a touch of glamour were sequins in the form of multi-colored flowers, as well as diamond earrings and a black satin quilted headband.

J Balvin

Never one to shy away from a unique fashion moment, the rapper opted for a white, oversized Louis Vuitton suit and black shades.

Taylor Swift

Singer Taylor Swift was the QUEEN of the evening! She wore a sparkling dress by Oscar de la Renta and completed the look with a collar of diamonds wrapped around her neck to match baubles glittering across her arms. She also wore her dark blonde hair parted down the middle and tied back, with her signature bright red lipstick highlighting her flawless features.

Conan Gray

Singer Conan Gray chose to grace the runway wearing a whimsical Harris Reed ensemble with a lace-trimmed train and blazer.

Dove Cameron

Singer Dove Cameron wore a strapless Paco Rabanne dress, combining with florals and leather fetishwear elements and a black choker to top it all off.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X was on the spot during the evening award-event! He looked stunning wearing a sculptural Harris Reed ensemble featuring a tiered feathered skirt frame and headdress.

Anitta

Singer Anitta looked gorgeous paying homage to Lil Kim’s famed 1999 VMAs outfit. She wore an asymmetrical red corset and an artistic nipple cover from Schiaparelli Haute Couture Collection Fall/Winter 2022.

Colton Haynes

Actor Colton Haynes was impossible to miss in an acid-green flared suit by Dior, featuring a wrapped blazer, diamond brooch and platform shoes.
