From New York’s vibrant streets to the serene coastline of Biarritz, this season’s resort collections transformed fashion into a worldwide showcase of glamour, artistry, and escapism.

Resort fashion presentations are no longer simply about unveiling next season’s wardrobe. They have become immersive cultural events where luxury houses combine fashion, travel, celebrity, and art to create unforgettable experiences in some of the world’s most iconic locations. This season, designers embraced destination dressing on a grand scale, bringing their collections to New York, Los Angeles, the French coast, and beyond. The result was a series of runway moments that felt cinematic, aspirational, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
Louis Vuitton’s New York Duality

For Cruise 2027, Louis Vuitton staged its latest presentation at The Frick Collection on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The museum’s elegant interiors provided the perfect contrast to the modern energy of the collection, while the front row brought together stars including Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett and Chloë Sevigny.
Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière built the collection around the contrast between uptown refinement and downtown attitude. Denim played a central role throughout the runway, reimagined through sculptural tailoring and elevated silhouettes that reflected a polished interpretation of American style.
The collection combined leather biker jackets, athletic influences, and boxing-inspired elements with bold ‘80s tailoring and luxurious eveningwear inspired by the grandeur of the Gilded Age. The overall mood balanced elegance with edge, nostalgia with futurism.
A major highlight of the show was its tribute to artist Keith Haring. Inspired by Haring’s impact on both street culture and contemporary art, Ghesquière incorporated the artist’s signature graphics into several looks after learning that Haring had once customized a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk. The collaboration brought a sense of individuality and creative freedom to the collection.
Dior’s Cinematic Glamour

Meanwhile, Dior headed to Los Angeles for its Cruise 2026/2027 presentation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Under creative director Jonathan Anderson, the maison continued to push its identity in a bold and experimental direction.
The show attracted a glamorous audience that included Miley Cyrus, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sabrina Carpenter and Jisoo.
Anderson embraced a maximalist aesthetic, reinventing Dior’s iconic signatures with distressed fabrics, dramatic silhouettes, and sparkling embellishments. Bouclé jackets appeared deconstructed, denim was held together with oversized chain details, and glitter-covered accessories brought a theatrical spirit to the runway.
Hollywood history also influenced the collection. Christian Dior famously dressed stars like Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, and Anderson expanded on that legacy by presenting fashion as fantasy and escapism. Contributions from artist Ed Ruscha added another creative dimension to the collection.
Chanel’s Seaside Spirit

At Chanel, the atmosphere shifted toward effortless elegance and coastal freedom. Creative director Matthieu Blazy presented his first cruise collection for the house in Biarritz, where Gabrielle Chanel first opened a couture salon in 1915.
Inspired by his childhood memories of the Basque coast, Blazy created a collection centered around movement, lightness, and ease. Models wore shimmering fish-scale dresses, oversized raffia pieces, striped swimwear-inspired looks, and relaxed silhouettes that captured the spirit of seaside dressing.
Oversized tote bags and glittering footwear added a playful touch, while the collection maintained the craftsmanship and refinement associated with Chanel. Blazy’s youthful vision continues to bring renewed excitement to the maison.
