Burberry chose Supermodel Gisele Bündchen to Star in its Latest Summer Campaign

The ever-charming supermodel is the new face of Burberry’s 2022 campaign.

Riccardo Tisci, Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer, launched his latest Burberry TB Summer Monogram campaign that celebrates the brand’s duality, connecting “the past and the present to create a collision of iconicity, reflected in the print of the collection”. It also aimed to celebrate “the brand’s house code of duality”.

In addition, the TB Summer Monogram campaign brought an entire team of experts together, including stylist Suzanne Koller and makeup artist Georgi Sandev. They could perfectly capture the magic and the essence of the campaign.

The campaign featured gorgeous Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who posed next to her ten-year-old unpublished portraits taken by celebrity photography duo Luigi & Yango, who believe “working with family is always the key to success.” Gisele adopted “an effortless stance in front of unreleased portraits captured by the duo 10 years prior. A relaxed pose asserts her inner confidence, exemplified through the collection”.

Last year, Burberry’s campaign championed stellar names such as Gigi Hadid with Kendall Jenner, being the following year’s star, and Naomi Campbell stepping up last year. Other iconic models fronted Burberry’s campaigns for the brand in 2022, including the likes of Jourdann Dunn, Lourdes Leon and Ella Richards.

The campaign also exuded calm beauty and effortlessness. “I was so happy to see Riccardo again after such a long time and shooting with my sweet friends Luigi and Iango is always a blast,” Bündchen said about the shooting process. “It was so special spending time with everyone, we had so much fun on set.” The model said of the campaign in a press release.

Riccardo Tisci created an innovative storyline, where Gisele posed in front of backdrops of images captured a decade earlier. Moreover, the brand wanted to revive Burberry’s iconic heritage by bringing together two of the brand’s iconic symbols.

Riccardo used TB’s signature classic plaid with the monogram to introduce the updated models. In the collection, we see a variety of pieces for women and men, including gabardine trench coats, silk dresses, hoodies, cropped tops, leggings eyewear, wool-blend cardigans, and cotton shirts, swimwear, high-top sneaker and sunglasses.

Menswear includes cotton sweatshirts and Oxford shirts, silk-blended bomber jackets, hooded jackets and wool sweaters. Meanwhile, on the accessories front, there are bucket and baseball caps, Lola and Freya tote bags, linen high-top sneakers, contrast-trim leather point-toe pumps, neoprene sandals, sunglasses and a jacquard-woven towel.

The new TB Summer Monogram is available on the Burberry website and in retail outlets.
