It’s time to ditch those winter knits and grab a lightweight jacket instead. Spring into the new season in style with 2022’s leading men’s summer trends. From bold colours, transparent and cutout pieces, discover the latest spring summer fashion trends for men.

For the past two seasons, designers tried to think creatively about how to showcase their collections: some designers relied on the lookbook format, while others tried video. Although many have decided to continue on this new path, the Spring/Summer 2022 season saw the great comeback of physical shows, a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry.

Last Spring/Summer 2021 menswear collection was full of freedom and hope, with colourful pieces, eclectic suits, voluminous (couture), joggers and comfort-focused extra-wides. In 2022, most fashion brands and designers around the world are showing new styles in response to the pandemic we’ve been living.

Men’s Spring/Summer fashion is all about the emergence of a new formality through effortless office wear along with the hegemony of the colour black. There were also designs specially created to reconnect with the social life we’ve been missing for the past two years: jumpsuits, vibrant colours and party boy looks. Moreover, and equally as important, designers introduce pieces that are traditionally feminine into the heart of the male wardrobes, such as crop-tops, cutouts, or heels.

BRIGHT COLOURS

Louis Vuitton comes up with a mixture of vivid colours and patterns in their designs, from pastel to fluorescent. For those who aren’t ready to push their limits yet, there’s still the option to incorporate a pop of colour in an otherwise neutral outfit.

BLACK AND WHITE

Black and White are truly making a comeback, thanks to Saint Laurent and nothing could be more elegant. Simplicity can be expected in this colour palette, but more daring wearers can bring black-and-white to new levels with a little experimentation.

SHOWING SKIN

Hermes and Stefan Cooke propose transparent pieces for the Spring/Summer 2022 collections, between the lace details, sheer fabrics, and bold indiscretion of the pieces.

EASY SUITING

The urban formal suit is always in fashion, but this season the suit takes on an even more relaxed style. This does not detract from its elegance; the slouchy suit is less rigorous, more elastic, and comfortable without sacrificing style. It is a celebration of unstructured suits, which does not abandon the silhouette overall.

Fendi SS22’

For this season, Fendi unveils their men’s collections and dare us to wear less. One of the fashion statements of summer 202 was indeed the cutout pieces.

Between scissor cuts, holes, indentations, and straps, a new concept of masculinity is being brought forth by designers this season.

DUST COATS

Burberry proposes the large, light, and casual: the dust coat, inspired by the trench coat, the peacoat, and the parka. It is specially designed to face any climatic event with style.

JUMPSUITS

Fashion brand Ermenegildo Zegna proposes once again the jumpsuits. They are making a big comeback this season, and we almost forgot about it. Most of the time jumpsuits are inspired by the workwear outfit, but this time the jumpsuit goes from the oversized utilitarian style to the regressive short version.
